This is the absolutely best ever BnB, Fiona is a treasure able to cook to restaurant standard but without all the faff and bother.
From the warm welcome to the goodwill bar, with home made croissants worthy of a French bouganlerie, and wonderful company too! The rooms are clean and comfortable, warm even in the cold of March and quiet too, with shutters to keep out the cold and early sunshine. This is too good to share, please don't go, so there will be room for us to visit again soon.

Delightful stay in a beautiful residence. π - Character building that welcomed you in from the start. Comfortable period house filled with tasteful furniture, yet super cosy. We felt so at home. Beautiful huge bedroom, and bathroom. Breakfast and dinner delicious and excellently cooked. Tucked away location so peaceful, but a short walk into the centre. Fiona is a dying breed in the hospitality industry. She took excellent care of us, and is one very talented cook to boot! π - Was all great! A tiny comment, we are walk in shower people, but understand itβs not always possible to book with a room.

This was, by far, the most luxurious accommodation that we stayed in on our recent trip to Scotland. It was pricier than the other B&B's we visited, but offered much more in extras.|We stayed on the ground floor in the Forsyth Room. β¦

I would classify the Factor's House as a luxurious B&B in comparison to those where we generally stay. The cost was on the high end for us, and the priciest one of our recent trip. That being said, the location was convenient, there was free parking, an easy walk into town, and a lovely view of the sea from the room.
The king size bed was quite comfortable. The ensuite bathroom was obviously recently remodeled with a modern shower, sink and heated towel bar.
Towels were large and fluffy. No washcloths. Pump bottles of shampoo/conditioner and body wash were available.
There was a hostess tray with coffee/tea/keurig and chocolate treats. Home made scottish shortbreads were set out each day for evening enjoyment, and there was a bowl full of fresh fruit including grapes and apples.
The Wi-Fi had a strong signal.
We stayed on the Forsyth Room located on the ground floor, which was very convenient.
There was a large living room for relaxation and an honesty bar. The breakfast room was roomy with a large table to enjoy the meal with other guests. In addition to granola, yogurt and fresh fruit, we were asked to choose a hot option in addition the night prior. I chose banana bread french toast one night and a toasted bagel with tomato, avocado & feta cheese. Both were scrumptious.
I highly recommend staying at the Factor's House if you are looking for a special treat while staying on the Black Isle.
Licensed guests lounge and dining room have a country house feel, with a selection of local gins, whiskies and beers and a comprehensive wine list.
A set menu of 3 courses including local and organic produce and foods in season is served Monday to Thursday and a sharing board of local cheeses, breads and cured meats is available anytime.
The Factor’s House is just a short walk into the beautiful historic town of Cromarty. Dolphin watching, museums, beaches, pubs, cafes, a deli along with unique independent shops and cafes, make our wee town a compulsory destination on your visit to the Black Isle and the Highlands.
